Published on 13 Dec 2016 An organic tomato farmer in the Sacramento Valley is achieving some pretty amazing results using significantly less water on his fields. Researchers at UC Davis are helping verify and monitor his results so they can be shared with other farmers. It’s one of six exciting new grants OFRF awarded in 2016 to address the most pressing issues of organic farmers. Research projects like this are critical to fostering the improvement and widespread adoption of sustainable farming practices that conserve water, protect the environment, and provide healthy food. For over 26 years, OFRF has been funding research and advocating for programs and policies that improve the success of organic farmers. With your help, we can continue to do so. Please consider making a donation to OFRF as part of your year-end giving.
