When the Mabo decision was handed down just over 25 years ago there was a significant shift in how native title in Australia was dealt with – and it wasn’t just a landmark decision when it came to property law it was also the beginning of a shift towards Indigenous people and communities shining a light on what was an underlying issue around property rights.


Raelene Webb QC, President of the Native Title Tribunal, told the National Indigenous Economic Development Conference in Cairn that while a lot had been done there was still a long way to go. Have a look at her speech
